2000’s room 05/02/19

In the 2000’s room I have finished the environment and started adding vollision to the various objects within the scene. The player can pick up the flash drive so far. I will continue to work on displaying the history of the computer, this following week.

WSSU Scholarship presentation 4/11/2019

We have recently presented our research VR game at our Schools Scholarship day’s poster presentation portion of the day. We explained to people what our motivation was behind doing the research and displayed our game as a demo for whoever came by. We received a lot of positive feedback on our project and a lot of interest. We also set up the Oculus Rift and Google Daydream for anyone who would like to see a demonstration of the game. In the demonstration that we displayed, the user could walk around and observe the lobby environment. I downloaded the game on to my Galaxy Note 8 and allowed users to use the Google Daydream headset.  When we downloaded it did not build all of the textures that were in our editor. But they were able to teleport from one position to the next with Daydream controller. Lastly, the user was able to go into all 3 rooms and look at the environment in them also. This following week my goal will be to continue to work on the environment of my room and add collision to the objects.

VR Game 4/11/19

We have finished deploying and configuring each headset for our game. We were having some issues regarding the teleporting for each headset. How we overcame this issue was by changing the tree for the controller. We also solved the issue regarding teleporting to each room because we had to configure each room for the android device.

2000’s room

My part in this project is to make the 2000’s room and to add the USB to it. I have set up the environment, and I am currently in the process of adding the script to the game which is displayed once the USB is plugged into the computer. I also have to add collision to it this following week.

VR Game 02/1/2019

I have created the 2000’s room for the game and I tried to make it look modern as possible. It has a desk in the back of the room where the user will then learn about the 2000s part of the evolution of the computer.

Beginning game project 1/18/19

This week we have begun working collaboratively on our game. First, we started looking for assets to use for the game. Then we planned on how we would start, we will create a room where the user may look around it at the different stages of the computer. The will go by decade and teach the user about the important part of the computing device of that decade.

Immersive group-to-group telepresence January 3rd (Winter break)

In this project, a team created a system which allowed distributed group users to interact in a shared virtual 3D world. They explored the use of these virtual user representations in various interaction scenarios in which local and remote users are face-to-face, side-by-side or decoupled. Initial experiments with distributed user groups indicate the mutual understanding of pointing and tracing gestures independent of whether they were performed by local or remote participants. The participants were excited to explore the virtual city.
